Keurbooms Ferries – Trip Summary

Trip Schedule:
08:00 – Birding (Seasonal)
11:00 – Guided Trip
14:00 – Guided Trip
17:00 – Sunset (Seasonal)

We operate 7 days a week.
Reservations are essential, and bookings close 2 hours before departure.
All trips are weather dependent.
Duration: 2 to 2½ hours.

Standard Trip Rates (Per Person):
Adults (12 years and older) – R675
Children (2 – 12 years) – R505

The Experience

After boarding, we wind our way through the millennia-old gorge into the breathtaking Keurbooms River Nature Reserve.

Enjoy a guided journey through the fascinating history, nature, and beauty of this remarkable area. After traveling approximately 5km upriver, we pause at a naturally formed river beach where guests can:

Explore the forest
Enjoy a picnic
Swim in the river
Relax and unwind before returning

Important Notice – Standard Bookings vs Private Charters

A standard ferry booking is not a private charter.
All standard bookings are guided group trips shared with fellow guests (up to 25 passengers per departure).

If you prefer an exclusive experience, a Private Charter must be specifically requested, confirmed, and paid for.

Private Charter Rates:

• Up to 6 Guests – R4 000
• Up to 12 Guests – R7 500
• Up to 25 Guests – R12 000

Please note:

• Private charters are subject to availability.
• They can only be confirmed if there are no other bookings in the requested timeslot.
• Private charters operate on the same schedule as standard trips.
• Duration is approximately 2½ hours.
• Payment upfront is required to confirm all bookings.

What to Bring:

• Light snacks and cold beverages
• Swimwear and towel
• A jacket and hat (weather can change quickly)

Please note:

• Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks (we are not permitted to sell any onboard). You may enjoy your picnic onboard or at the stop-over point.
• No loud music is allowed onboard.
